This afternoon we had our anatomy scan, and we now know whether we'll be buying pink or blue - yay! And, everything is looking perfect, for which we are infinitely grateful. We are so thankful for a healthy baby.

The husband insists on finding out and doesn't like surprises, but I wanted to somehow include Thatcher. And, well, the idea of wrangling him at a doctor's office that is known for long waits just didn't seem like a great idea. So I concocted quite the elaborate plan...

First, I wrapped a newborn girl outfit and a newborn boy outfit in identical gender neutral bags. I tagged both with labels that were super easy to remove.

Then, I asked a friend of mine from Church if she'd be willing to open the envelope from the doctor's office and tell us discreetly which one to open.

Of course, any good plan has cookie cake involved, right? On the way home from the beach this morning, we swung by the mall to retrieve said cake.

On the way home from the doctor's office, it started pouring down rain and storming and the husband was like "can't I just open the envelope?" But we had come too far in my plan and there was no turning back!

So we stopped by my friend's house and the husband ran in and returned with one bag - eeeek!

Then we got home and had to wait like 20 painful minutes for the baby-sitter's mom to pick her up. It felt like forever!! Finally, we were able to let Thatcher break into the present!

And we could not be more thrilled!
