At 7 months, you are quite opinionated. If you don't want any more food, you push the spoon or bottle away. If the entire room isn't paying attention to you and you happen to notice, you try to get our attention with a consistent "ewww" "ewww" "ewww" (which sounds like an owl!) You are totally a routine guy. When people try to push you past your limit, you are not a happy camper. It's funny because a lot of people try to put their babies on routines, but you basically put yourself on one, and it is not to be messed with! You do best when we listen to your cues early; it is very easy for us to tell when it is nap time, bed time, food time and play time...and if we get past your breaking point then watch out! You usually take two good naps a day, and sometimes a quick cat nap in the car for good measure.
You have the world's BEST laugh. When you think something is funny, we immediately repeat it 243 times because you will just laugh and laugh and laugh. You have become quite the eater, usually taking 40 ounces (!!!) of formula a day, as well as anywhere from 8-16 ounces of food. You tend to prefer sweeter foods like sweet potatos, squash and fruit, but you haven't turned anything down yet.
We got off of a regular monthly schedule at the doctor when you had your weight issues in June, but a week shy of 7 months you weighed 15 pounds, 14 ounces and were 25 3/4 inches long (6 inches longer than birth). You are busting out of size 2 diapers and most of your 6 month clothes. You are really close to crawling and get up on all fours to rock before collapsing again. You can roll easily in both directions and put yourself to sleep at naptime and bedtime (thank you, Ferber!) You are sitting really well, but we still have to put you into the position to begin with.
You are loving your high chair (which I would totally recommend to other moms), and you will usually play happily in there while we do things in the kitchen.
We keep talking about how crazy it is that you are here. Last year at this time your dad talked about how excited he was to watch football with his little buddy, and now it is a reality! This past weekend, we took you to your first Tulane game, which was a blast. You have many more Tulane sporting events in your future!
We are having so much fun with you and are looking forward to the months ahead! We can hardly wait for the holidays, your first birthday (tear), your first Mardi Gras, trips to the zoo and much, much more!

Happy 7 month birthday, Thatcher!!! He is SO precious...and clearly such a HAPPY little boy!! The pictures above are adorable and it sounds like he is bringing so much joy to your home...love the updates!!
Thatcher is so cute!! I want come play with him. I need to come over during daytime hours when the little man is awake!
Aaaahhh he is so cute! Happy 7 months, Thatcher! I love reading other babies' monthly updates. He is just the happiest little thing! So sweet. We're totally with you on the repeating things 500 million times whenever the baby laughs at it! And it's usually the silliest thing and we feel like complete morons doing it over and over and over but we do it anyway :-)
JD coached one of the Tulane players (Randy LeBlanc) and his family gave us a Tulane onesie for Jaxon. Randy's games are the ONLY time you'll catch any of us in Tulane gear ;-) But I love that y'all can enjoy a college team as a family. It's so stinky that I'm all the way LSU and JD is all the way Alabama!
He is such a cutie I can hardly stand it! And thanks again for hosting the giveaway! So excited!
oh m gosh what a happy little guy! I love it. We repeat things that P laughs at about a gagillion times too. I just can't get enough of the baby giggles. Happy 7 months!
